Transparency International-Bulgaria continues its work on the annual Local Integrity System Index in 2017.
Along with the activities on accumulation and verification of empirical data for the nine studied pillars of the research, Transparency International-Bulgaria is planning to organize 3 regional round tables for exchange of good practices among the municipalities-regional centres in the country. In 2017 the expert team of the Association will continue to support the work of the municipalities, which occupy the lowest positions in the ranking. In cooperation with the local authorities and the Regional Public Councils for Counteraction to Corruption, we will propose specific measures and an action plan for increasing transparency in the work of Municipal Councils and the mayor’s team, as well as for enhanced accountability of the control bodies in the administration and collaboration with the citizens and the local community.
Index 2017 will be published in December 2017.
